Gutter Cleaning
For gutter cleaning you need to climb a ladder. Suppose if your gutter is to high than you can reach with a stepladder, or you should use an extension ladder.
Suppose if you are afraid to climb higher, then use these rules,- Make sure the ladder is firm and level.
- The bottom portion of the ladder should be one feet away from the wall of your house for every four feet of its length. If the ladder is extended 12 feet up, for example, you’ll need to place the base of the ladder 3 feet from the wall of the house.
- Don't stand on the top three steps of the ladder.
- Keep your hips between the vertical rails of the ladder. Climb down and move the ladder; don’t extend your body beyond safety range.
- Have a friend hold the ladder at its base.
- Plastic or metal trowel,
- Plastic trash bag or a bucket,
- Hose, attached to outdoor faucet.
2. Once you’ve cleared the debris, then climb the ladder with the spray end of the hose. Have your partner/friend help you so the hose does not tangle in the rungs of the ladder.Spray water towards the downspout of each gutter. When you get to the downspout, flush it with water. Clear every gutter.
Small Gutter Repairs
If the gutters are bent, rusted, or degraded, you need to replace them. However, caulking them with silicon sealant can repair leaky joints between sections of gutter. Also if you notice a little hole or two in the gutter, you can patch the holes with a thin coat of roofing cement, applied with a putty knife.
